- Pic 26. 5 weeks – practicing being ‘grown up’ (crop feeding), and communicating.
- Pic 27. 5 weeks – C’mon up! First day out of ‘pot’ – Dad encouraging.
- Pic 28. 5 weeks – Help! Ready to fledge? (Don’t think so…) but a good instinctive reaction…
- Pic 29. 5 weeks – “You can do it!” – Dad lending a beak…
- Pic 30. 5 weeks – “It’s mine!” Squabbling over a corn kernel.
- Pic 31. 6 weeks – Friends.
- Pic 32. 7 weeks – has Scaly’s underwing colouring (see Pic 12 – 10 days). Tail showing more development.
- Pic 33. 8 weeks – Red colour emerging on black beak. Scaly breast; aqua head blending to Scaly’s apple-green.
- Pic 34. 8 weeks – Scaly and Junior. Note Junior’s body size (more Rainbow build than Scaly).
- Pic 35. 8 weeks – Fledged now, and finding a new home on a branch.
- Pic 36. 8 weeks – Siblings showing both front and back markings. Scaly has ‘scales’ on his back – the youngsters don’t!
- Pic 37. 16 weeks – Beak now mostly red – eyes not yet ‘adult’ – fully independent.
